QA Engineer

About the Role

As a Sr. QA Engineer at ShopOS, you’ll be the gatekeeper of product quality across our AI-first commerce stack. From zero-to-one product flows to high-scale production environments, you’ll ensure that every release meets our high standards of reliability, performance, and usability.

You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to define testing strategies, build automation pipelines, and identify critical issues before they reach users. This role is perfect for someone with a sharp eye, strong user empathy, and a deep appreciation for clean, well-tested software.

What You’ll Own

• Design, write, and execute test plans and test cases across frontend, backend, mobile, and AI-driven components
• Implement and maintain test automation frameworks (for APIs, UI, and performance testing)
• Own end-to-end quality assurance across multiple product modules and services
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to establish clear acceptance criteria and drive bug-free releases
• Proactively identify, track, and prioritize bugs and regressions using tools like Jira, Linear, or Notion
• Conduct functional, regression, performance, and exploratory testing
• Maintain and enhance CI-integrated testing suites to ensure scalable, fast feedback loops
• Test edge cases and failure states to ensure graceful degradation and system resilience
• Bring a strong voice to user experience, product usability, and business-critical flows

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in QA roles in product-driven engineering teams
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience with manual and automated testing (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, etc.)
• Proficiency in writing test cases and bug reports with clarity and detail
• Hands-on experience with testing APIs (REST, GraphQL) and web/mobile interfaces
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, Git, and test coverage tracking
• A sharp eye for edge cases, usability, and platform consistency
• High sense of ownership and commitment to delivering high-quality releases

Bonus Points

• Experience testing AI-integrated features, Gen AI flows, or ML-powered systems
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Locust)
• Background in eCommerce platforms or content-rich UIs
• Familiarity with backend testing (unit/integration testing with Jest, Pytest, etc.)
• Exposure to workflow automation tools or CMS/PIM-like systems
• Ability to script and extend automation tools in Python, JavaScript, or similar
