About the role
About GEP
GEP is a global provider of AI-powered procurement and supply chain strategy, software, and managed services, serving Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies. Our software, GEP Quantum Intelligence, helps enterprises transform how they source, buy, and manage their supply chains. Our Professional Services team brings that technology to life for clients, and that work is complex, high-stakes, and growing.
About the Role
The Professional Services PMO brings consistency, visibility, and discipline to how client implementations and transformation programs get planned and delivered. You will be the project management leader for this work. You'll partner with implementation teams, engineering teams, and client and delivery teams to make sure projects are scoped realistically, staffed well, tracked honestly, and delivered on time.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite in our GEP Clark NJ Headquarters.
Responsibilities
Delivery oversight
- Partner with implementation, engineering, and client/delivery leaders to oversee the portfolio of client SaaS implementations and transformation programs, from scoping through configuration, integration, testing, go-live, and handoff to support
- Maintain a clear, accurate view of schedule, scope, budget, risk, and resourcing across all active engagements
- Lead project health reviews and step in early when engagements are trending off track
- Own escalation paths and drive resolution of cross-team issues and dependencies, including those that span implementation, product engineering, and the client's own teams
- Serve as a hands-on project or program lead on the most complex or high-risk engagements as needed
Governance and standards
- Own the PMO's governance, methodology, templates, tooling, and reporting cadence
- Evaluate how projects are initiated, planned, tracked, escalated, and closed, and evolve the standards to balance rigor with the speed implementation and engineering teams need
- Set PMO priorities and report on progress to senior leadership
Cross-functional partnership
- Act as the connective tissue between implementation teams, engineering, client-facing teams, and other GEP functions
- Work with delivery and sales leaders on realistic estimates, timelines, and resourcing before commitments are made to clients
- Coordinate dependencies between client implementations and product engineering, including feature readiness, releases, and defect resolution
- Support client-facing teams in steering committees, status reviews, and executive communications
- Influence and align stakeholders at all levels without direct authority
Resource and capacity management
- Work with implementation, engineering, and delivery leaders to forecast demand, manage capacity, and allocate people across projects
- Identify staffing gaps and risks early and recommend solutions
Financial and performance management
- Track project financials, including budgets, forecasts, margins, and change orders, in partnership with finance
- Own the KPIs the PMO reports on, such as on-time delivery, budget variance, utilization, time to go-live, client satisfaction, and risk exposure
- Deliver clear, honest portfolio reporting to senior leadership and executives
Risk, quality, and continuous improvement
- Strengthen risk and issue management practices so teams actually use them
- Run retrospectives and lessons-learned reviews, and turn findings into better practice across the portfolio
- Identify opportunities for tools and automation that cut administrative overhead for project teams
Coaching and enablement
- Advise and coach delivery, implementation, and engineering leaders on project management best practices
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration across teams
Qualifications
Required
- 12+ years of experience in technology project, program, or portfolio management, including significant time in senior-level or leadership roles
- Proven experience running a PMO function or leading project delivery for an enterprise software, SaaS, professional services, or consulting organization
- Track record of managing large, complex, client-facing SaaS implementations or digital transformation programs, ideally in procurement, supply chain, finance, or other enterprise operations software
- Experience working closely with implementation and engineering teams, including configuration, data migration, integration, testing, and go-live
- Familiarity with integrating enterprise platforms with client ERP and finance systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Strong working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches, and the judgment to know which fits a given project
- Experience with project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management
- Hands-on experience with PPM and project tools (such as Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar) and with building executive-level reporting
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak credibly with implementation teams, engineers, clients, and C-suite leaders
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred
- PMP, PgMP, or SAFe certification
- Direct experience with source-to-pay, procurement, or supply chain software and the client organizations that use it
- Experience at a procurement or supply chain technology, consulting, or managed services firm
- Experience supporting a globally distributed team across multiple time zones
- Experience maturing an existing PMO or improving delivery practices across a portfolio
Salary Range
$150,000 – $175,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
