About the role
What do we need
We are looking for an experienced market leader, thought leader and SME in Biologics. Biologics research is where molecular therapeutic discovery begins. Scientists are discovering and engineering proteins, antibodies, bispecifics, and other large molecule formats, then deciding which candidates are worth taking forward.
We're building Luma, a Scientific Intelligence Platform for life sciences and materials science. Biologics research is a core part of our Molecule to Market story. We need someone to own the market strategy for it.
This is a customer and market facing role. You'll spend real time with biologics research leaders at pharma, biotech, and academic and government institutes, and support teams across Siemens, including sales, product, services, customer success, and the Siemens Solution Marketing team. Your job is to drive software adoption and AI use cases in biologics research.
How you'll spend your time
- Customer engagements: meeting research leaders and scientists, joining pursuits, and bringing what you hear back to the business
- Market analysis: sizing segments, tracking competitors, and spotting trends early
- Sales enablement: giving teams across regions the talk tracks, battlecards, demo narratives, and proof points to win
- Solution marketing: partnering with the Siemens Solution Marketing team on content, campaigns, events, and messaging for the biologics research audience
- Thought leadership: working with industry thought leaders, inside and outside Siemens, to shape the conversation on AI driven discovery and the future of the research lab
- Adoption and AI use cases: identifying, proving, and spreading the use cases that get scientists using Luma and putting AI to work on their data
- Cross organization alignment: working across Siemens DISW and DI Automation teams so we show up as one company with one story for the biologics research market
What you'll do
- Own the market growth strategy for Luma in biologics research, including antibody discovery, protein engineering, lead optimization, and developability
- Define target segments, buyer personas, and priority accounts
- Build positioning and messaging for bench scientists, research leaders, and executives
- Drive software adoption by finding the workflows where Luma delivers value fastest and capturing what works so others can repeat it
- Define and prove AI use cases for biologics research, including tools like NVIDIA BioNeMo
- Translate research pain points into clear value, such as faster design, build, test, and learn cycles, better capture of experimental context, easier data sharing, and cleaner handoffs into development
- Partner with the Siemens Solution Marketing team to build content, campaigns, and events for the research market
- Work with industry thought leaders, analysts, and partners to build credibility
- Create the competitive view against other informatics vendors, point solutions, and in house builds
- Develop the business case, pricing inputs, and value story with Finance and Sales
- Equip global teams with talk tracks, battlecards, demo narratives, and customer proof points
- Partner with DISW and DI Automation teams to align messaging, joint offers, and customer conversations
- Partner with Product on roadmap priorities based on what research teams tell us
- Connect biologics research to the broader Molecule to Market narrative, including ELN, Lab Orchestration, and Biologics registration
- Support strategic pursuits and executive conversations with customers and partners
- Track market trends, including AI driven discovery, autonomous labs, lab automation, and data analytics
We are looking for people who have
10 or more years in life sciences, with hands on biologics research experience in a pharma, biotech, or research institute setting. You will bring strong analytical skills, including sizing markets and building a business case, excellent writing and presentation skills, and ideally a degree in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is strongly preferred, and a PhD is a plus.
The key skills
- Deep understanding of how biologics discovery works day to day, including target validation, antibody and protein engineering, expression and purification, assay development, screening, characterization, and candidate selection
- Knowledge of how research leaders make decisions, balance speed and quality, and work with development, automation, and data science teams
- Familiarity with ELN, LIMS, registration systems, or assay data platforms
- Experience in product marketing, market strategy, product management, or commercial roles at a software, informatics, or life sciences solutions company
- A track record of driving software adoption, or of turning new technology such as AI into use cases customers adopt
- Proven ability to turn complex science and technology into clear, simple messaging
- Comfort working with senior leaders, industry experts, and customers
- Ability to work across a large, global, matrixed organization and build trust with teams in different regions and business units
Nice to have
- Experience running or supporting a biologics discovery team
- Experience with lab automation, high throughput screening, or self driving lab concepts
- Experience with AI, machine learning, or data platforms in a scientific setting
- Existing relationships with industry thought leaders, analysts, or research institutes
- Prior time at a biotech or in a discovery organization at a large pharma
What success looks like
- A clear biologics research market strategy adopted by Sales, Product, Services, and Solution Marketing
- Messaging and sales tools that teams around the world actually use
- One consistent story for biologics research across Dotmatics, DISW, and DI Automation
- Growing software adoption and a library of proven AI use cases in biologics research
- Industry voices who help tell our story
- Growing pipeline and wins tied to biologics research
- Research leaders who can say, in their own words, why Luma helps their scientists find and advance better molecules faster
