QA Automation Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our development team. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, product owners, and engineering stakeholders to deliver high-quality features from the product backlog in an Agile environment.

The role combines manual and automated testing, with a strong focus on test automation, continuous quality improvement, and early defect identification.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of an Agile development team to deliver features from the product backlog.
• Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and supporting QA documentation.
• Develop and maintain GUI, REST/API, integration, and end-to-end automated tests using Selenium, TypeScript, Node.js, and Cucumber.js.
• Design and maintain reusable automation frameworks using the Page Object Model and appropriate design patterns.
• Perform REST API testing and validate application integrations, including distributed systems and microservices.
• Track, analyse, and communicate test results, defects, risks, and quality metrics promptly.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated quality gates, and continuous improvement of QA practices.
• Apply knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and common web application security considerations during testing.

Required Technical Skills and Competencies

• 6+ years of professional experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a similar role.
• Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
• Strong understanding of manual testing and regression testing.
• Hands-on test automation experience across UI and REST/API layers.
• Knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js-based testing frameworks.
• Understanding of TDD and BDD practices, including Cucumber.js and Gherkin.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
