Azure & Microsoft Fabric Lead Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts using PowerShell.
• Configure and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Automate the deployment of application and data platform components across Development, UAT, and Production environments.
• Implement reusable scripts and templates to standardize deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, authentication issues, access permissions, and deployment errors.
• Manage environment-specific configurations, variables, and deployment parameters.
• Implement logging, error handling, and monitoring mechanisms within automation scripts.
• Support automated deployment of Microsoft Fabric artifacts using Azure DevOps pipelines and PowerShell.
• Assist with deploying Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses, Warehouses, and related data platform objects.
• Support the deployment and configuration of Lakehouse shortcuts and other Microsoft Fabric components.
• Troubleshoot deployment failures related to authentication, authorization, workspace access, and API connectivity.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric REST APIs and service principals or managed identities, as applicable.
• Provide support for Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering activities as required.
• Support basic troubleshooting of data ingestion and deployment-related issues.
• Document automation scripts, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Follow coding standards, version control practices, and deployment best practices.

Professional Knowledge/Skills:

• Hands-on experience in PowerShell scripting for automation and deployment activities.
• Strong experience configuring and managing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience automating deployments across Development, UAT, and Production environments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), reusable deployment templates, and release management practices.
• Experience troubleshooting pipeline, authentication, authorization, and deployment issues.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric including Lakehouses, Warehouses, and related platform components.
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric REST APIs, service principals, and managed identities.
• Understanding of Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering concepts and data ingestion processes.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and error-handling frameworks within automated solutions.
• Familiarity with version control systems, source code management, and deployment governance.
• Understanding of coding standards, software development best practices, and continuous delivery methodologies.
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
