About the role

Engineers who get satisfaction from a clean, boring, reliable deployment - and who don't panic when production is on fire. You're comfortable owning infrastructure end to end, from Terraform to the pager, and you'd rather automate a repetitive task than do it by hand a second time.

What you'll own

  • Design, implement and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines
  • Deploy and manage applications across development, QA, staging and production environments
  • Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Configure and manage Kubernetes clusters, namespaces, deployments, services, ingress, ConfigMaps and Secrets
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments
  • Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Automate build, release and deployment processes using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Implement monitoring, logging and alerting solutions
  • Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, networking and application issues
  • Monitor application and infrastructure health, performance and availability
  • Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis and production troubleshooting
  • Implement security best practices across CI/CD and cloud environments
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting

What it takes

  • 5-7 years of DevOps/cloud engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • CI/CD - Jenkins / GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Azure DevOps
  • Infrastructure as Code - Terraform
  • Kubernetes package management - Helm
  • Cloud - AWS / Azure / GCP
  • Git and source-control workflows
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Shell / Bash / Python scripting
  • Monitoring - Prometheus / Grafana or equivalent
  • Logging - ELK / Splunk / Loki or equivalent
  • Good understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, SSL/TLS and firewalls

Nice to have

  • ArgoCD / GitOps
  • Ansible
  • OpenTelemetry
  • Datadog
  • Service mesh such as Istio
  • Microservices architecture and API gateway knowledge
  • Production/on-call support experience
  • Cloud cost optimisation
  • Security and vulnerability-management exposure
