About the role
Key Responsibilities
1. Define the Consumer Value & Partnership Strategy
Shape the strategic vision for how external partnerships can enhance the JioStar consumer proposition.
- Identify the consumer needs, occasions and categories where partnerships can create meaningful incremental value.
- Develop a clear point of view on where JioStar should play, which categories to prioritise and what types of partnerships will be differentiated.
- Build the roadmap for evolving from individual benefits and partnerships into a broader consumer value proposition.
- Identify opportunities to leverage JioStar's unique consumer, content and distribution assets in partnership propositions.
- Ensure the proposition is built around consumer value and relevance, rather than generic discounts and offers.
- Continuously evolve the strategy based on consumer behaviour, partner performance and market opportunities.
2. Build a High-Impact Portfolio of Partnerships
Own the identification, prioritisation, negotiation and development of strategic partnerships across high-value consumer categories, including:
- Retail and commerce
- Food, dining and delivery
- Travel and hospitality
- Financial services, cards and payments
- Telecom and broadband
- Consumer technology and electronics
- Mobility
- Gaming and digital goods
- Live events, entertainment and ticketing
- Lifestyle and premium experiences
- Creator and community-led propositions
- Reliance / Jio ecosystem businesses
Go beyond assembling a partner catalogue. Build a curated portfolio of anchor partnerships that creates clear reasons for consumers to engage more deeply with JioStar.
3. Create Differentiated Consumer Propositions
Work closely with product, loyalty, data, marketing, content and business teams to translate partnerships into compelling consumer experiences. Explore propositions such as:
- Rewards and benefits
- Exclusive access and experiences
- Status-linked privileges
- Subscription and membership bundles
- Earn-and-burn constructs
- Co-created consumer propositions
- Commerce-linked benefits
- Sports and entertainment experiences
- Live event access
- Premium and personalised experiences
- Partner-funded value propositions
4. Build Innovative Partnership Economics
Own the commercial thinking behind the partnership portfolio, working closely with finance and business teams to ensure propositions are both compelling for consumers and attractive for JioStar and its partners. Evaluate and structure models around:
- Partner-funded rewards and benefits
- Revenue share
- Cost per acquisition / engagement
- Redemption economics and breakage
- Incremental revenue
- Retention and engagement impact
- Cross-sell and upsell opportunities
- Campaign and proposition ROI
- Gross margin and contribution economics
- Long-term strategic value of the partnership
5. Build the Anchor Partnership Portfolio
Create and own a high-priority pipeline of partnerships that can establish the proposition and demonstrate its value early. Identify the partnerships that can create the strongest consumer proposition around key JioStar moments and use cases, including:
- Major sports properties
- Flagship entertainment franchises
- Subscription and upgrade journeys
- Connected TV and household engagement
- Premium consumer experiences
- Commerce and everyday consumption occasions
Prioritise fewer, high-impact partnerships over a large number of undifferentiated ones, particularly in the early stages.
6. Be the Senior Face of the Proposition
Build long-term relationships with senior leaders across India's leading consumer brands and platforms.
- Engage CXO-level stakeholders and position JioStar as a strategic partner rather than simply a distribution or media channel.
- Create compelling partnership narratives that demonstrate mutual value.
- Negotiate complex, multi-party commercial arrangements.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships to extend beyond a single campaign into long-term strategic relationships.
