About the role
Role Overview
We are seeking an AI Solution Developer / Software Developer to help establish and scale enterprise-grade AI capabilities across our organization. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a technically versatile professional who can design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications and automations using the Microsoft AI ecosystem, including Azure AI Foundry and the Power Platform.
This role blends software engineering, solution architecture, and applied AI development. You will work across business and technology teams to rapidly translate ideas into secure, scalable, production-ready solutions—while also helping define the standards, patterns, and governance that will shape our long-term AI capability.
This position is aligned to a senior individual contributor profile (comparable to SFIA Level 5 – Ensure/Advise), with opportunities to grow into broader influence and capability leadership as our AI function matures.
Key Responsibilities
AI Solution Development
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications, copilots, and agent-based workflows using Azure AI / Microsoft Foundry
- Build scalable integrations across enterprise systems, Microsoft 365, and Azure services
- Develop and optimize prompts, workflows, and model orchestration strategies for real-world use cases
Power Platform & Automation
- Develop solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and Dataverse
- Extend low-code solutions with custom APIs, connectors, and Azure services
- Partner with business teams to deliver governed, enterprise-ready automation solutions
Solution Design & Business Alignment
- Translate business needs into scalable technical designs and AI-enabled workflows
- Advise stakeholders on architecture, tradeoffs, and appropriate use of AI vs. traditional automation
- Contribute to reusable solution patterns and development standards
Governance, Security & Responsible AI
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise security, compliance, and data governance policies
- Apply responsible AI practices, including testing, monitoring, and human oversight
- Support the development of AI lifecycle standards (development, evaluation, deployment, support)
Capability Building
- Help establish foundational practices, templates, and reusable components for AI development
- Provide guidance and mentoring to IT teams and business stakeholders
- Contribute to the evolution of internal AI standards, tooling, and best practices
Qualifications
Required
- Experience developing applications in the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, APIs, integrations)
- Hands-on experience with Azure AI services or similar AI/ML platforms
- Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, or Copilot Studio)
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar)
- Experience integrating systems via APIs and enterprise data sources
- Ability to translate business requirements into working technical solutions
Preferred
- Experience developing or deploying AI-driven applications or automation solutions in production
- Familiarity with AI governance, model evaluation, and responsible AI practices
- Experience working in environments with structured security and compliance requirements
- Exposure to establishing development standards, patterns, or reusable frameworks
Core Competencies
- Full-stack problem solving: Ability to move across architecture, development, integration, and automation
- Pragmatic delivery mindset: Focus on building solutions that are both innovative and operationally viable
- Business-oriented thinking: Strong ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes
- Governance awareness: Understanding of risk, compliance, and responsible AI considerations
- Collaborative engagement: Works effectively across technical and non-technical teams
