Job Description
What You'll Do:
- Lead and facilitate solutioning technical cybersecurity challenges across the portfolio of security tools
- Build and maintain technology roadmaps for the program's security tool portfolio
- Advise tool teams on configuration approaches and integration strategy across the security stack, including SIEM, EDR, PAM, network detection, and vulnerability management platforms
- Evaluate new and replacement tools for onboarding, including vulnerability management platforms such as Qualys, and assess technical fit against program requirements and the existing environment
- Represent the program in meetings with senior government officials, presenting and defending technical approaches
- Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in proposed technical solutions prior to delivery
- Work with tool team leads to shape technical approaches toward stronger client outcomes
- Monitor the technical health of the tool portfolio and flag emerging integration or capability gaps
- Provide technical analysis and recommendations to program leadership on tool-portfolio direction and investment decision.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for cross-tool architecture and integration questions
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 12 years of relevant experience (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)
- Broad, demonstrated experience across security tool categories — Splunk, EDR/endpoint, vulnerability management, PAM, network detection, or similar
- Experience with enterprise SIEM tools, specifically with large deployments of Splunk
- Experience with vulnerability management platforms; experience with Qualys specifically preferred
- Demonstrated experience evaluating, architecting, and integrating security tools within a complex technical environment
- Experience evaluating and onboarding new security tools into an existing environment
- Experience presenting technical material in client- and government-facing settings
- Sound technical judgment and the ability to communicate complex technical material clearly to varied audiences
- Even-keeled, professional, and customer-oriented under pressure
- Effective communicator at all levels, written and verbal
What You've Done:
- CISSP, CISM, or similar security certifications
- Experience supporting federal agency security operations
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture implementation
- Prior experience in a solutions architect, technical lead, or senior engineering capacity
