Senior Software Engineer

What you'll be doing

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
• Lead projects and efforts to develop and maintain local and cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code philosophy.
• Lead efforts to further automate cloud and local infrastructure operations with tools.
• Help build and integrate security as part of the infrastructure.
• Architect and maintain Roku’s codified next-generation cloud infrastructure, working with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Take the lead on other important infrastructure projects, with the support and collaboration of the team.
• Take the lead efforts to implement new technologies and best practices etc.
• Take the lead and mentor other members of the team to define and adopt new or improve existing processes and procedures.

You are required to have

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of progressive experience in the position, or in a related occupation.

Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:

• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure tools to enable automation and streamline infrastructure management.
• At least one high-level scripting language.
• Architecting, maintaining, and coding next-generation cloud infrastructure, working with the following technologies: Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Using project management tools Jira and version control system Git.
• Utilizing observability and monitoring tools Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health, optimize performance, and facilitate efficient troubleshooting.
• At least one cloud technology from the following: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
• Software development life cycle and quality control practices.
