Job Description

You may not have heard of Renuity - yet - but we're already in neighborhoods nationwide. Renuity is the 5th largest home remodeling company in the US, operating in 40 states with nearly 4,000 employees. We just haven't had the national brand to match the scale of our local teams.

That's what we're building now. We're in the midst of a major brand transformation: bringing our businesses around the country together under the Renuity name while evolving our positioning, messaging, visual identity, and creative expression for the next chapter of the brand. At the same time, we're building a more integrated, full-funnel approach to marketing and the creative capability to support it.

For our creative team, that means a rare opportunity: not simply to steward an established brand, but to help shape what a national brand becomes.

As Senior Lead Visual Designer, you'll have a significant hand in defining how that next chapter looks and feels. We're looking for a Senior Lead Visual Designer to help define how Renuity shows up in the world and raise the quality of creative execution across every customer touchpoint.

You'll help translate our evolving brand strategy into a new, distinctive visual identity, personally lead our most important design work, and build the systems that allow the brand to show up cohesively across channels, formats, and experiences. This is a senior, hands-on creative role for an exceptional designer who can think far beyond individual design assignments and is excited by the opportunity to shape, not simply inherit, a brand.

While design should be your deepest craft, your creative range should extend beyond it. You should be comfortable art directing photography, video, and motion; collaborating with and providing direction to writers and other specialists; shaping integrated campaign concepts; and ensuring that work created by different people and partners feels like part of one cohesive creative idea.

Renuity's creative capability is evolving, so this is also a "building" role. You'll help establish stronger creative standards, systems, and ways of working while determining how an agile internal team can make the greatest impact alongside agencies, freelancers, and production partners.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Renuity's visual expression: Set a high bar for design and art direction, and help establish a distinctive, recognizable visual language across the brand
  • Turn strategy into creative: Partner across Marketing, Internal Communications, and other teams to translate briefs, audience insights, and business objectives into strong creative concepts and visual ideas.
  • Personally lead high-priority design work: Remain hands-on in concepting and execution, particularly for high-visibility campaigns, foundational brand work, and projects where senior craft can materially elevate the outcome
  • Think in systems, not individual assets: Develop creative and visual systems capable of extending cohesively across paid media, social, web, lifecycle, print, experiential, and other touchpoints
  • Art direct beyond graphic design: Guide photography, video, motion, and other visual disciplines, working with specialists to ensure execution supports a unified creative vision
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary concepts: Collaborate closely with writers, strategists, marketers, and other creatives to shape ideas from the beginning rather than simply designing against predetermined concepts
  • Direct designers and creative partners: Provide clear, actionable creative feedback to internal designers, freelancers, agencies, and production partners
  • Balance brand and performance: Create work that builds brand equity while supporting business objectives, and use customer insights, testing, and performance signals to improve creative over time
  • Build scalable design systems: Create templates, toolkits, guidelines, and reusable systems that allow a lean organization to produce high-quality work efficiently without sacrificing distinctiveness
  • Strengthen Renuity' creative foundation: Help evolve our visual identity and build stronger photography, video, graphic, and other asset libraries
  • Improve creative ways of working: Help establish effective briefing, concepting, review, and approval practices that make the work stronger and the organization more efficient
  • Develop creative talent: Mentor designers and help raise the quality of craft across internal and external resources
  • Present the work: Clearly articulate creative rationale to marketing partners and senior stakeholders and respond constructively to feedback

What You'll Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in design, art direction, and creative development, ideally across agency and/or sophisticated in-house brand environments
  • A portfolio of demonstrating exceptional design craft, art direction, and conceptual thinking across a range of channels and formats
  • Deep expertise in graphic design, typography, composition, visual systems, and brand expression
  • Demonstrated ability to take an idea beyond a single execution and build an integrated visual system around it
  • Experience art directing photography, video, and/or motion and working effectively with specialists in those disciplines
  • Experience collaborating with writers and contributing meaningfully to multidisciplinary campaign concepts
  • Experience directing or mentoring designers and providing actionable feedback that makes work materially better
  • Ability and desire to remain hands-on while simultaneously providing creative leadership to others
  • Strong understanding of brand systems and the judgment to know when consistency matters and when the brand should stretch
  • Experience working with agencies, freelancers, photographers, filmmakers, and other external partners
  • Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment with significant creative volume and evolving processes
  • Curiosity about creative effectiveness and willingness to use customer insights, testing, and performance data to improve work
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
