About the role
Ideal Candidate
The Merchandising Manager, Diamonds role is responsible for delighting Quince’s growing customer base by expanding and managing the Diamonds product assortment on Quince.
Responsibilities
- Own all end-to-end merchandising for Diamonds, including category strategy, assortment, launches, and performance.
- Influencing long-term planning; responsible for delivering near-term results independently
- Redefining quality standards for Diamonds used in jewelry across the business.
- Partner closely with PD and Sourcing to align quality, costs, and vendor execution.
- Analyze data to drive decision-making, including sales velocity, margin, return rate, etc.
- Maintain a competitive market pulse and identify white space opportunities.
- Leveraging data for ratings, reviews, and return rates, conduct quality improvements for any products in assortment with improvement opportunities
- Onboard additional best-in-class vendors to the Quince model to expand sourcebase
- Continuously identify whitespace in the assortment and refine product roadmap based on new information and learnings
- May manage Analysts or Asst Merchants (0–2 direct reports).
Requirements
- Role is based in San Francisco California, with 3 days per week in office requirement.
- 5-7 years of retail merchandising experience in the Jewelry (with an expertise in Diamonds) category, preferably with luxury expertise
- 1-2 years of people management experience
- E-commerce experience and/or DTC experience preferred
- Proven track record of progressing within an organization and demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilities
- Product obsessed with experience in leveraging data tools and external sources
- Critical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the “science” and “art” of retail merchandising)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes and brand enhancement
- Continuous learner and highly curious; always open to considering new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Motivated by working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, where flexibility to stretch into or out of functional comfort zones is crucial for team success
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
