Application Developer

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Node.js, Express.js/Fastify, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture. Experience in the Land Records / IGR (Inspector General of Registration) domain will be an added advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Express.js and/or Fastify.
• Design and implement microservices-based applications following scalable architecture principles.
• Design, develop, and optimise PostgreSQL databases, including queries, indexing, transactions, and performance tuning.
• Build secure, reliable, and high-performance APIs and backend services.
• Integrate backend services with external APIs, third-party systems, and e-Governance platforms.
• Develop reusable components and services following clean architecture and coding standards.
• Implement authentication, authorisation, data validation, and API security best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement appropriate fixes.
• Monitor and optimise application performance, scalability, and database operations.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
• Follow Git-based development practices and established software development lifecycle processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of backend development practices, application reliability, and observability.

Desired Skills/Background

• 3–8 years of relevant backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
• Good experience with Express.js and/or Fastify.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Proven experience in developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Good understanding of Microservices Architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, promises, events, and Node.js best practices.
• Good understanding of authentication, authorisation, API security, and data validation.
• Good knowledge of Git and software development lifecycle practices.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or BullMQ is an advantage.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
• Understanding of logging, monitoring, and application observability is preferred.
• Domain experience in Land Records, Property Registration, Registration & Stamps, or IGR systems is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of government registration workflows and property/land record processes is an advantage.
• Exposure to modules such as Property Registration, Mutation, Encumbrance Certificate, Certified Copy, Stamp Duty, e-Stamping, Land Revenue, or related workflows will be preferred.
• Experience integrating applications with government APIs or e-Governance platforms is an added advantage.
