About the role
Your Impact
We are searching for a skilled and motivated EV Charging Field Service Technician. This key role is responsible for the onsite repair and maintenance of EV charging stations in a specific geographic region, including but not limited to site safety, electrical system maintenance/repair, field service reports, and other duties as required to properly maintain and operate the site within the contractual requirements. This role must be able to work independently with little to no supervision and will be required to work in the field under various conditions. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work and is accountable for the performance and condition of the equipment they service. They are continually looking to develop their technical skills, learn new technologies, and improve their ability to support our customers and field operations. Electrical expertise, relevant certifications, and prior EVSE experience are valued and will be considered when determining the level of responsibility and technical work assigned to the technician.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades/revisions, and preventive/corrective maintenance across a broad range of EV charging equipment, ranging from Level 2 EV chargers to DC Fast Chargers.
- Perform electrical and equipment testing, including but not limited to insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imaging, torque testing, performance evaluations, and other diagnostic testing as required.
- Troubleshoot EV charging system performance issues, identify and isolate faults, including ground faults, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Review and interpret site manuals, electrical drawings, and OEM documentation to properly service and maintain equipment and complete work safely and effectively.
- Take ownership of assigned work from regional scheduling through completion, including completing accurate field reports and work orders, documenting site conditions and issues, and ensuring identified deficiencies are communicated and addressed in a timely manner.
- Conduct site safety assessments and identify safety hazards on the job site, properly generate and complete JHA, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and other safety-related documentation in accordance with OSHA and site-specific requirements.

Core Experience
- Electrical – Certified Electrician (Journeyman level) from a relevant state is preferred but not required, except where required by applicable state or local regulations.
- 2+ years’ equivalent experience in EVSE field service, servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field, and/or formal electrical training.
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Technical knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, solar power installations, or other applicable power electronics is preferred, but not required.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate, track, and complete site work requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers. Interpreter services are not available for this position.
- Relevant EVSE field service experience, electrical experience, technical certifications, formal electrical training, and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered when evaluating candidates and determining compensation.
- Candidates must meet all applicable state and local licensing requirements for the work they will perform.
