Concept Artist – Mobile Games

P99Soft is looking for a talented Concept Artist who can contribute beyond individual assets and help shape the overall player experience, visual storytelling, UI/UX, game presentation, and marketing direction. The ideal candidate should understand how art influences player psychology, readability, emotion, engagement, and decision-making, and be able to translate game ideas into clear, appealing, and effective visual concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create concept art for characters, environments, props, UI elements, game features, and visual themes.
• Develop artwork with a strong focus on storytelling, mood, visual hierarchy, and player experience.
• Apply basic principles of player psychology when designing characters, rewards, progression visuals, environments, and game interactions.
• Contribute to UI/UX art direction, ensuring interfaces are visually appealing, readable, intuitive, and suitable for the target audience.
• Create concepts and visual directions for store assets, promotional artwork, key art, banners, icons, and marketing creatives.
• Help establish and maintain a consistent art style and visual language across the game.
• Work closely with game designers, artists, developers, and marketing teams to translate gameplay ideas into effective visual solutions.
• Produce sketches, paint overs, mood boards, visual explorations, and polished concepts for production teams.
• Research competing games, visual trends, player preferences, and visual references to support creative decisions.
• Explore multiple concepts quickly and iterate based on feedback.
• Clearly communicate visual ideas and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills:

• Strong fundamentals in composition, color, lighting, shape language, perspective, and visual storytelling.
• Good understanding of game art and player-focused design.
• Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and visual hierarchy.
• Understanding of how visuals influence player emotion, engagement, readability, and decision-making.
• Ability to explore multiple concepts and communicate ideas clearly.
• Ability to think beyond aesthetics and understand why a visual works for the player.
• Strong interest in game design, storytelling, player psychology, marketing art, and art direction.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating rapidly.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience working on mobile games or interactive entertainment products.
• Experience creating game marketing and promotional artwork.
• Experience with game UI/UX and visual design.
• Understanding of player engagement and game presentation.
• Experience collaborating with game designers, developers, UI/UX designers, and marketing teams.
• Ability to create concepts that can guide 2D/3D production artists.
• Awareness of current mobile gaming trends and competitor games.

Portfolio Requirements:

• A strong portfolio demonstrating experience in one or more of the following areas: Concept Art, Character Design, Environment Design, Prop Design, Visual Development, Game UI/UX Art, Marketing/Promotional Art, Visual Storytelling, Mood Boards and Visual Explorations.
• Portfolio quality and the candidate's ability to explain their creative decisions will be an important part of the selection process.
