About the Team\nOpenAI's Industrial Compute organization is building the world's most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem. Through strategic partnerships and self-built campuses, we are scaling one of the world's fastest-growing AI infrastructure platforms.\n\n### About the Role\nWe are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead strategic execution across sourcing, supplier operations, manufacturing quality, and infrastructure delivery for OpenAI's AI infrastructure portfolio.\nThis role will oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for strategic sourcing, manufacturing quality engineering, and technical program management while partnering closely with engineering, finance, hardware operations, and deployment teams. You will drive supplier strategy, manufacturing readiness, production planning, quality performance, and operational execution across the full hardware lifecycle.\nSuccess requires balancing long-term supplier strategy with day-to-day execution. You'll establish scalable operating mechanisms, strengthen supplier partnerships, manage complex cross-functional programs, and ensure OpenAI can rapidly deploy AI infrastructure without compromising quality, cost, or reliability.\nThis is a people leadership role responsible for developing a high-performing organization while driving operational excellence across OpenAI's infrastructure supply chain.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Lead and develop teams responsible for Strategic Sourcing, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain Program Management.\n- Own supplier strategy across compute, networking, storage, and infrastructure hardware.\n- Establish long-term sourcing strategies that improve resilience, scalability, cost, and supplier performance.\n- Partner with Hardware Engineering to ensure supply chain strategies align with future hardware roadmaps and product introductions.\n- Drive manufacturing readiness, supplier quality, production ramp planning, and operational readiness across multiple hardware programs.\n- Build executive operating reviews tracking supplier performance, manufacturing readiness, deployment risk, quality metrics, and supply continuity.\n- Lead supplier executive relationships, contract execution, and operational governance with key manufacturing partners.\n- Partner with Finance, Capacity Planning, Infrastructure Delivery, and Hardware Operations to align hardware availability with deployment schedules.\n- Develop scalable operational processes supporting rapid infrastructure expansion across multiple regions.\n- Drive continuous improvement across sourcing operations, manufacturing quality, supplier performance, and infrastructure delivery execution.\n\n### Qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or equivalent practical experience.\n- 10+ years of experience leading technical supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing operations, or infrastructure delivery organizations.\n- Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.\n- Experience developing supplier strategies for complex hardware or infrastructure products.\n- Strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership experience.\n- Experience leading global supplier relationships and contract execution.\n\n### Preferred Skills\n- Experience supporting hyperscale infrastructure, cloud platforms, or AI hardware deployments.\n- Background in servers, networking, storage, accelerators, or large-scale infrastructure hardware.\n- Experience with ODM/JDM manufacturing models.\n- Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and supplier quality engineering.\n- Experience managing new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp programs.\n- Familiarity with hardware lifecycle management from design through deployment.\n- Experience supporting rapidly scaling infrastructure organizations.\n\n### About OpenAI\nOpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity.
