About the role
About the Role
We need a hands-on Team Lead to run our day-to-day operations across Transaction Monitoring, Chargeback Management, and Law Enforcement (LEA) responses.
You’ll direct a team of analysts tackling financial crime, payment disputes, and responding to tight-turnaround legal demands. If you know payment system rules, have dealt directly with police or regulatory orders, and know how to keep a fraud team running smoothly, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
-
Team & Operational Leadership
- Direct the daily queue, ensuring the team hits strict SLAs on alerts, chargebacks, and legal notices.
- Coach analysts through complex cases, run regular quality checks, and handle escalated fraud decisions.
- Keep standard operating procedures updated as card network rules and regulations change.
-
Transaction Monitoring & Fraud Operations
- Monitor live transaction streams to catch suspicious behaviour, account takeovers, and money laundering patterns.
- Partner with Product and Risk Engineers to tweak monitoring rules, trim down false positives, and plug fraud vectors.
- Lead deep-dive investigations into complex fraud cases and flagged accounts.
Chargebacks & Disputes
- Run end-to-end representment operations across Visa, Mastercard, and local payment rails.
- Drive up our win rates and keep our overall dispute and fraud ratios well clear of network monitoring thresholds.
- Feed chargeback root-cause insights back to product and customer support to fix underlying issues.
Law Enforcement Liaison & Legal Requests
- Handle intake, validation, and fulfilment for subpoenas, court orders, police requests, and asset freezes.
- Serve as the point of contact for law enforcement inquiries while ensuring data disclosures remain fully compliant with privacy laws.
- Maintain clean audit trails and tracking for all legal and law enforcement requests.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–6 years of experience in fraud ops, risk, or compliance within fintech, payments, or e-commerce.
- 2+ years in a supervisory role, squad lead, or senior analyst position where you mentored others and managed queues.
- Solid operational track record across all three core areas: tuning transaction monitoring rules, handling chargeback representments (Visa/Mastercard VROL/Mastercard Connect), and processing LEA notices.
- Data-fluent: Comfortable pulling data in Excel or SQL to build quick reports, track team SLAs, and spot fraud trends.
- Sound judgment: Sharp communication skills with the composure to handle sensitive legal requests and high-risk fraud escalations cleanly.
