Our India team plays a critical role in this mission, contributing to product development, design, verification, and customer support across multiple technical disciplines. We're building a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
The Role
A modern computing platform is only as good as the firmware that brings it to life.
At Lattice Semiconductor/AMI, we're looking for a member of technical staff I who thrives on solving complex platform initialization challenges and is passionate about building world-class UEFI BIOS solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with hands-on development across multiple generations of Intel, AMD, and Arm platforms.
You will work closely with silicon vendors, platform architects, hardware teams, and customers to develop, debug, optimize, and deliver BIOS solutions that power some of the industry's most advanced computing platforms.
What You'll Do
- Development, and integration of UEFI BIOS features across Intel, AMD, and Arm-based platforms
- Develop BIOS firmware using UEFI, PI specifications, EDK II, and Aptio V technologies
- Collaborate with silicon vendors, platform architects, hardware teams, and customers to define and implement platform requirements
- Enable new silicon and reference platforms from early bring-up through production release
- Debug complex system boot issues involving CPU initialization, memory, PCIe, power management, security, and platform firmware components
- Perform low-level firmware debugging using Intel ITP, JTAG, UART, logic analyzers, and other platform debug tools
- Analyze hardware schematics, board layouts, and platform architecture to diagnose system-level issues
- Implement and maintain industry-standard firmware interfaces, including PCIe, ACPI, SMBIOS, USB, TPM, Secure Boot, and related platform technologies
- Drive firmware quality, performance optimization, and platform reliability improvements
- Work closely with validation and customer engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful product releases
- Document firmware architecture, design decisions, debug methodologies, and customer solutions
- Stay current with emerging firmware technologies, chipset architectures, security requirements, and industry standards
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 3+ years of UEFI, BIOS development experience
- Strong understanding of Intel IA32 and x64 architecture
- Strong programming skills in C and Assembly language
- Extensive experience in BIOS, UEFI, PI, and EDK II development
- Deep understanding of PC architecture and platform initialization flows
- Experience enabling and debugging Intel, AMD, and/or AArch64-based platforms
- Strong knowledge of platform firmware standards including PCIe, ACPI, SMBIOS, USB, and related specifications
- Experience reading hardware schematics and board-level layouts
- Proven expertise in low-level system debugging and hardware troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with platform debug tools
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter capable of driving solutions independently and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of BIOS or firmware development experience
- Experience with Aptio V firmware architecture
- Experience enabling server, AI server, edge computing, embedded, or IoT platforms
- Knowledge of firmware security technologies including Secure Boot, TPM, TME, SEV, TXT, and related platform security solutions
- Familiarity with CRA, NIST, and emerging firmware security compliance requirements
- Experience working directly with OEMs, ODMs, silicon vendors, or hyperscale customers
