About the role
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Control Technician to join our prototyping team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in material control processes such as inventory control, material management, storage management, and replenishment. The Material Control Technician participates in all aspects of a dynamic inventory; assuring material availability while supporting Job Orders. The Material Control Tech will store materials, cycle count, pull kits, transact parts, ship and receive. This role is critical. Applicants must think independently, and work with little supervision. Production schedules must be meticulously maintained, and workspaces kept safe and clean.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide material support for Production Schedules.
- Validate availability of parts for workorders.
- Receive and inspect incoming parts.
- Prepare workorder kits.
- Perform cycle counts and count parts.
- Keep storage locations organized and neat.
- Maintain visual controls.
- Manage inventory using lean principles.
- Use forklift to store heavy materials such as metals and plastics.
- Participate in process improvement activities.
- Escalate problems and communicate progress.
- Accurately transact data and update dashboards.
- Train and support others.
- Perform other duties as required.
