Senior Energy Market Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a dedicated team of analysts to perform detailed energy market modelling and long-term forecasting efforts for market prices, plant/grid operations, and plant economics
• Manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines while ensuring excellent quality, consistency, and client support
• Review and provide direct feedback to the team on quantitative modeling approaches and results
• Communicate effectively with a diverse client base as a subject-matter expert in US wholesale power markets
• Grow ICF’s business by leading interactions with potential clients and developing proposals
• Mentor and develop junior staff as well as collaborate with ICF senior management on key business decisions

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative-focused field. Candidates majoring in other fields must clearly demonstrate equivalent quantitative aptitude
• 5+ years of work experience in North American electric power sector, including market analysis, Power Flow studies and forecasting
• Experience with a minimum of one of the following: ERCOT, PJM, ISONE, NYISO, MISO, SPP, CAISO, WECC, and SERC
• Deep familiarity with market modeling approaches and tools (e.g. PROMOD, PSLF, etc.)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office
• Experience independently conducting and supervising technical analysis

Preferred Skills:

• Master’s degree in any of the aforementioned fields or closely related areas
• Consulting background preferred. However, other experience with financial analysis, asset valuation, or power plant development is a plus
• Business development and managerial experience
