About the role
As a Climate and Energy Planning Intern, you will:
- Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases
- Evaluate the impact of future regulation and support the development of client strategies to manage change
- Write analysis for major corporate and government clients’ deliverables
- Support the development of research synthesis reports, industry benchmarking, quantitative analysis and policy summaries
- Contribute to business development and marketing efforts and thought leadership development through market research, data analysis and creation of marketing content
Basic Qualifications:
- By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required in Energy, Policy, Climate, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field
- U.S. Citizenship is required per Federal contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
- By start date, acceptance/ enrollment verification, or at least 9 credit hours of completed graduate-level courses in Energy, Policy, Climate, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field
- A completed bachelor's degree
- Strong interest in one or more of these areas: energy economics, energy finance, climate, greenhouse gas accounting, operations research, and energy policy analysis
- The ability to work with and understand technical concepts, while also being able to communicate them to non-technical personnel
- Basic knowledge of R, Python and/or other coding languages
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong analytical skills and capabilities in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
- Working knowledge of US energy markets, policies, and technology
