About the role
As an Accounts Payable Specialist on our growing Finance team, you will manage day-to-day accounts payable processes, conduct employee expense audits, and ensure precise invoice processing. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience across full-cycle AP while leveraging modern generative AI models (like Gemini and Claude) to assist with workflow automation, data extraction, communication drafts, and process improvements.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated, recent college graduate eager to launch their career in corporate finance. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accounting concepts, exceptional attention to detail, and a genuine passion for continuous learning and professional growth in a high-growth fintech environment.
What you get to do every day
- Invoice & Payment Processing: Review, code, and enter vendor invoices with high precision into our ERP accounting systems, ensuring proper approvals and general ledger alignment.
- Expense Audit & Management: Audit employee expense reports for compliance with company Travel & Expense policies, verifying receipts, business purpose, and cost allocation prior to reimbursement.
- Data Entry & Management: Perform accurate data entry for vendor setup, tax documents (W-9s), purchase orders, and payment scheduling.
- AI Tool Integration: Utilize AI platforms like Gemini and Claude to analyze financial data, automate routine correspondence, draft process documentation, and summarize complex invoices or contracts.
- Vendor & Internal Relations: Serve as a point of contact for vendor and employee inquiries, reconciling statements, resolving billing or expense discrepancies, and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Reconciliations: Assist with monthly accounts payable reconciliations, period-end closings, and audit preparations.
- Process Improvement: Continuously look for opportunities to increase AP and expense audit efficiency through AI prompt engineering, automated workflows, and standardized data entry guidelines.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Recent graduates encouraged to apply!).
- Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles, debit/credit entries, and the purchase-to-pay lifecycle.
- High energy, self-motivated, and eager to absorb new accounting processes, master financial software, and take on expanding responsibilities.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, or ChatGPT, with a desire to apply AI prompting techniques to optimize everyday tasks.
- A meticulous approach to numbers, receipts, and record-keeping with zero-tolerance for avoidable data entry errors.
- Fast and accurate alphanumeric typing, 10-key skills, and experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong analytical aptitude with a proactive approach to asking questions, identifying process bottlenecks, and finding creative solutions.
Nice to Haves
- Prior internship experience in AP, bookkeeping, expense auditing, or general accounting.
- Exposure to tools such as NetSuite, Coupa, Ramp, or Zip.
