Location: Atlanta, USA Domain: Warehouse Automation | Project Management | Supply Chain | Robotics
Role Overview GreyOrange is seeking an Assistant Manager – Project to support the successful implementation and delivery of warehouse automation solutions at customer sites. In this role, you will manage project coordination activities across cross-functional teams, support system integration efforts, monitor timelines and budgets, and assist with deployment and go-live activities to ensure successful project execution. You will work closely with customers, internal delivery teams, supply chain, engineering, and regional stakeholders to ensure operational readiness, project alignment, and customer satisfaction throughout the implementation lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a project management professional passionate about warehouse automation, robotics, supply chain operations, and large-scale technology deployments within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Implementation
- Understand customer requirements and operational needs to support successful project delivery
- Define project implementation strategies considering geography, integration complexity, delivery timelines, and operational challenges
- Prepare and maintain high-level project timelines, milestones, and implementation plans
- Collaborate with proposal and solution teams to create and review effort estimates for services and deployments
- Support successful transition of projects from Sales to Delivery teams
- Review customer contracts and define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and major milestones
- Establish project charters, communication plans, governance structures, and meeting cadence
Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with customers and internal cross-functional teams to perform gap analysis and implementation planning
- Ensure seamless communication between customers, stakeholders, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely hardware delivery and site readiness
- Ensure resource planning, allocation, and travel coordination across project teams
- Collaborate with regional, customer, and HQ teams for integration testing and deployment activities
Project Monitoring & Execution
- Monitor project progress against timelines, budgets, KPIs, and key milestones
- Ensure all standard project management processes and governance procedures are followed
- Track testing progress and escalate risks, delays, or issues as needed
- Create, track, and escalate issues and bugs through JIRA and other project management tools
- Ensure customer deliverables including infrastructure readiness, site preparation, and resource availability are completed on time
- Coordinate software readiness, deployment activities, and integration validation
Go-Live & Operational Readiness
- Support testing activities including UAT planning, KPI monitoring, and ramp-up planning
- Coordinate with RPM teams to support successful NPD ticket closure and project handoff to Client Services
- Assist with publishing handover documentation, signoff documents, and project closure reports on Confluence
- Set up and support war room activities when required during critical deployment phases
- Ensure successful go-live execution and operational stabilization
Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Management
- Identify opportunities to improve implementation processes, project execution efficiency, and customer outcomes
- Build strong customer relationships and proactively manage project expectations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across delivery and implementation practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in project management, warehouse automation, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or related industries
- 5+ years of experience across project/program management, consulting, change management, P&L management, or people management functions
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations and end-to-end project management of warehouse automation or distribution center commissioning projects
- Strong understanding of warehouse automation systems, logistics operations, and supply chain processes
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, organizational agility, and execution capabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex operational challenges
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, and project management tools
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and global teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or MBA in Operations Management, Project Management, or related field
- PMI, ACP, PMP, Prince2, CSM, or equivalent project management certifications
- Experience supporting warehouse automation, robotics, AMR, or fulfillment technology deployments
- Familiarity with software integration, WMS/WES/WCS systems, and operational testing methodologies
- Experience working within fast-paced customer-facing delivery environments
