Why This Role Matters

As a Social Media Intern, you will help shape GoKwik's presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and YouTube by creating engaging, relevant, and platform-first content. You will work closely with the Social Media team to identify trends, develop creative ideas, and take content from ideation to shooting, editing, and publishing.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands internet culture, has a strong sense of what makes content engaging, and can turn ideas into high-quality social media content quickly. Your work will directly contribute to how GoKwik communicates its brand, people, products, and culture.

What You'll Own

Content Ideation & Creation

• Develop fresh and engaging content ideas across reels, carousels, memes, trend-led posts, and recurring content series.
• Create content concepts that align with GoKwik's brand voice, communication priorities, and target audience.
• Write engaging captions, scripts, hooks, and content copy for different social media platforms.
• Identify opportunities to make brand, product, leadership, and workplace stories more relatable and engaging.

Video Shooting & Editing

• Shoot short-form videos covering behind-the-scenes moments, team interactions, leadership stories, events, and merchant experiences.
• Edit reels and short-form videos end to end, including cuts, hooks, captions, audio, and transitions.
• Optimise content formats, length, and presentation based on the requirements of each platform.
• Use smartphones and basic video equipment to independently capture and produce quality content.

Trend Research & Social Listening

• Actively track emerging trends, formats, creators, and conversations across social media platforms.
• Identify relevant trends and adapt them to GoKwik's brand voice and communication style.
• Research competitor and creator content to identify interesting formats, creative approaches, and content opportunities.
• Stay updated on internet culture, memes, and evolving social media behaviours.

Event & Real-Time Content

• Capture live content during company events, brand activations, and other relevant activities.
• Create and publish real-time stories, short videos, and quick edits during events.
• Coordinate with the Events team to plan and execute event-related social media coverage.
• Identify opportunities to capture spontaneous moments and turn them into engaging content.

Social Media Operations & Community Engagement

• Support the social media content calendar across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and YouTube.
• Schedule and publish content while ensuring consistency in tone, format, and timelines.
• Monitor comments, mentions, and audience interactions, and support community engagement.
• Coordinate with Design, Brand, PR, and Events teams to ensure timely and consistent content delivery.

Performance Tracking & Insights

• Track content performance across reach, engagement, saves, shares, and video watch time.
• Analyse content performance to understand what resonates with the audience.
• Share regular insights and learnings on successful formats, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Use performance data to suggest new content ideas and improve future campaigns.

Who You Are

• Are highly active on social media and have a strong understanding of platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
• Have a good sense of emerging trends, internet culture, memes, and content formats.
• Can independently ideate, shoot, and edit short-form videos.
• Have a strong creative instinct and understand what makes content engaging and shareable.
• Possess basic video editing skills and familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Canva, VN, or similar applications.
• Have strong writing skills and the ability to create engaging captions, hooks, and scripts.
• Are comfortable being on the ground to capture events, team interactions, and behind-the-scenes content.
• Are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working on multiple content requirements simultaneously.
• Can work in a fast-paced environment and take ideas from concept to publishing with minimal supervision.
• Have strong communication and collaboration skills.
