Software Engineer

Why This Matters:

Every day, financial professionals waste countless hours on outdated, clunky software. We're changing that reality, and your code will directly impact how people interact with financial systems worldwide. This isn't just another tech job – it's a chance to define the future of an entire industry.

Our Promise:

We'll give you the freedom to create amazing things, surround you with brilliant minds, and make sure your work has real impact. No bureaucracy, no pointless meetings – just the chance to build something revolutionary while working with some of the smartest people you'll ever meet.

Are you ready to rewrite the rules of finance? Let's talk.

The Role:

As a Verticals Engineer, you will turn real-world finance workflows into working software by reusing Genios' composable platform components. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a pure coordination or support function. You will work closely with Product, customers, and platform engineering to understand messy workflows, break them into structured systems, and build production-grade modules quickly.

What You'll Do:

• Build end-to-end vertical workflows: Design and ship production workflows for finance use cases (Investment Banking, CFO/FP&A, VC) using Genios platform primitives.
• Translate ambiguous workflows into working systems: Turn messy business processes into concrete technical implementations: model data, ingest and normalize inputs, encode business logic such as KPIs, forecasts, valuation, and variance analysis, and combine deterministic logic with LLM-driven reasoning and authoring.
• Iterate fast with real usage: Ship quickly, observe how customers use the workflows, refine the experience, and improve quality based on real feedback.
• Shape the platform without overbuilding: Identify missing platform capabilities, push clear requirements back to Backend, Frontend, and AI teams, and avoid solving every vertical need as a one-off hack.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

• Have 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Are proficient in Python.
• Are comfortable with APIs, SQL, and structured data/configuration formats such as JSON and YAML.
• Can translate business requirements into concrete data models, calculations, workflows, prompts, and technical requirements.
• Can debug across data, logic, prompt, and system boundaries.
• Can distinguish the customer's stated request from the underlying workflow need.
• Use tools effectively to move faster, including AI coding and reasoning tools.
• Have high ownership and operate well in a fast-moving startup environment.

Perks:

• Competitive compensation
• Unlimited PTO
• Hybrid working model (3 days in office)
• AI Assistants for work (Coding, General Purpose)
