Summary:

• Ethernovia is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant based in San Jose, CA, to serve as a key operational engine driving the monthly financial close, technical GAAP compliance, and internal control scalable growth. Operating within a fast-paced fabless semiconductor environment, this role manages end-to-end inventory and manufacturing cost accounting while partnering across sales and operations to optimize ERP workflows, customer invoicing, and Board-level reporting. Strong practical accounting, advanced Excel, and ERP expertise (such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP) are required, with Big Four public accounting and semiconductor/hardware industry experience highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Close & Reporting
  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for subsidiaries. Support the consolidated close.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial results and explain variances to management.
  • Coordinate external audits, annual financial statement reviews, and tax filings.
• Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting
  • Support application of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance, including customer contracts, milestones, licensing arrangements, NRE revenue, and product sales.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos for complex transactions.
  • Assist with equity accounting, stock compensation (ASC 718), warrants, debt instruments, and financing transactions.
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and evaluate impacts to the business.
• Semiconductor & Manufacturing Accounting
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including standard costing, reserves, excess and obsolete inventory analysis.
  • Support foundry, OSAT, and supply chain accounting processes.
  • Review capitalization and amortization of mask sets, tooling, software, and engineering-related costs.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve inventory controls and manufacturing cost reporting.
• Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Design and maintain scalable internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support readiness for future audits, IPO preparation, or SOX compliance initiatives.
  • Improve accounting procedures, automation, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Expert on our ERP system
• Support Sales for customer ordering & invoicing

Required Experience & Skills:

• Semiconductor Industry: 10+ years of finance experience, specifically within a fabless semiconductor environment.
  • You must understand the nuances of hardware lifecycles and foundry costs.
• Prior Big Four public accounting experience.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting.
• Exposure to IPO readiness, SOX compliance, or public company reporting.
• Experience with ERP implementations and process automation.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Advanced expertise in Excel.

Salary Range:

• The actual offered base salary for U.S. locations will vary depending on factors such as work location, individual qualifications, specializations, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, and internal equity. The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 - $185,000. The compensation package will also include incentive compensation in the form of pre-IPO ISO options, as well as eligibility for performance bonuses, in addition to base salary and a full range of medical and other benefits.
