About the role
The Commodities Services Associate/Analyst responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Execute recurring reporting processes (daily, weekly, monthly) under supervision.
- Assist in maintaining dashboards and reports (Power BI, Spotfire, Excel, Endur).
- Perform data validation and quality checks across systems.
- Support trade support and operational workflows.
- Compile and organize data for analysis and presentations.
- Support senior team members with ad hoc analysis and special projects.
- Support trading activities and operational reporting needs.
- Gather and document requirements by collaborating with stakeholders.
- Identify and implement incremental process improvements.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data organization, formatting).
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High degree of initiative, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Ability to follow structured processes and adhere to established workflows.
- Willingness to learn — actively seeks feedback and adapts to change.
- Foundational understanding of commodities markets (supply/demand drivers, price formation, major market participants).
- Foundational understanding of trading concepts (trade structures, order types, hedging, futures/derivatives).
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task under competing priorities.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Foundational understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle (origination, confirmation, scheduling, nomination, invoicing, settlement).
- Basic understanding of P&L and pricing concepts.
- Foundational familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Spotfire) and data visualization principles.
- Ability to translate data insights into plain language for non-technical stakeholders.
