Job Description
Darkroom is hiring an Associate Director of Creator, Social Commerce to drive our content and influencer strategy across client campaigns. Reporting to the Managing Director of Social Commerce, this is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who lives at the intersection of creative and performance - building influencer relationships, shaping the content that goes to market, and using data to make it work harder. You’ll own the relationships with creators and influencers who bring our clients’ brands to life, and you’ll translate performance signals into sharper hooks, briefs, and content direction. This is a hands-on role: less about running a team, more about being the person who knows what content is working, why, and what to make next. You’ll partner closely with the Directors of Strategy, Media Buying, and Creative to ensure content and influencer output is aligned with brand goals, platform best practices, and campaign performance targets. This is a fully remote role operating in the EST Time Zone (9-5) and all business is conducted 100% in English. What You’ll Do Content Strategy: Own content initiatives across client campaigns — shaping what gets made, testing new formats and angles, and keeping content aligned with brand goals and platform best practices. Influencer Relationships: Build and manage direct relationships with creators and influencers, sourcing the right partners for each brand and keeping them engaged and producing high-quality content. Hook & Brief Development: Write and iterate on hooks and creative briefs, translating what you see in the data into clearer, sharper direction for creators and the creative team. Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze content and campaign performance to identify what’s working and why, then feed those insights back into briefs, hooks, and content direction. Creative Collaboration: Partner with Strategy, Media Buying, and Creative to align content and influencer output with client objectives and campaign timelines. Performance Reporting: Report on content performance, influencer contribution, and creative quality trends using structured KPIs and platform data. Trend & Platform Fluency: Stay ahead of platform trends, emerging formats, and creator behavior, bringing fresh ideas that keep client content competitive. Who You Are 4+ years of relevant experience in content strategy, influencer marketing, creator partnerships, or social commerce. Proven track record building and managing influencer/creator relationships and sourcing partners who deliver high-performing content. Strong content instincts paired with a performance mindset — you can write a hook, read the data behind it, and know what to change. Comfortable working with performance data to inform creative decisions; you treat content as something to test, measure, and improve. Deep fluency in social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, and emerging channels), current formats, and creator behavior. Proficient with influencer/creator sourcing and tracking tools (e.g., TikTok Creator Marketplace, UpPromote, or similar CRM platforms). Excellent communicator and collaborator who works well across departments and directly with creators. Highly self-directed — this is an individual-contributor role that owns outcomes without a team underneath it. What It's Like to Work at Darkroom Darkroom is not a typical agency. We are looking for A players who want to build something great. We move fast, think deeply, and expect every team member to bring insight and rigor to everything they touch. We hold a high bar for performance, creativity, and ownership — but we also support each other relentlessly. No egos, no red tape — just world-class talent building something remarkable. We believe in autonomy with accountability, truth over comfort, and outcomes over optics. Unlimited PTO + US holidays: Rebooting is part of the work. Take the time you need to stay sharp. Remote-First Culture: Many roles are fully remote. Employees based in or near our New York or Lisbon HQs are expected to work hybrid with weekly in-office time. Hub locations include the Brazil and Spain. Health & Wellness: Company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision coverage. Finances, growth, and retirement: Darkroom offers a robust 401(k) program with company match and profit-sharing opportunities to help you save and grow as the company grows. Parental Leave: Flexible parental leave to support new parents during this important transition. Growth: Our interdisciplinary model gives every Darkroomer exposure far beyond their core role. Grow your skills, expand your influence, and stay at the forefront of the industry.
