Position Overview
Created Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Trajectory Engineer – Missile Defense to support engineering efforts for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures program in Huntsville, Alabama.
In this role, you will support ballistic missile target vehicle development, pre-mission trajectory validation, performance analysis, and flight test activities. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in modeling and simulation, trajectory analysis, programming, and vehicle performance assessment, along with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support development and engineering analysis of ballistic missile target vehicles.
- Contribute to target system design, requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, test analysis, and reporting.
- Perform trajectory development and analysis, coordinate system transformations, and vehicle performance assessments.
- Generate and analyze target vehicle 6DOF trajectory data.
- Support mission planning, pre-mission analysis, flight test activities, and post-test reporting.
- Develop and utilize engineering and analysis tools in collaboration with multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Support database requirements, schema and interface development, testing, data management, and technical documentation.
- Apply knowledge of missile physical characteristics, kinematics, signatures, and related engineering principles to technical analyses and data products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
- Experience with modeling, simulation, trajectory analysis, or related engineering disciplines.
- Programming proficiency using MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, or similar languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary technical team.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting MDA and/or other DoD programs.
- Experience with trajectory development tools such as TAOS or POST.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Trajectory analysis
- Modeling and simulation
- CAD/design
- Radar Cross Section (RCS) signatures
- Optical signatures
- Familiarity with missile vehicle characteristics, kinematics, and performance analysis.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple technical tasks.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
