About the role
About the Role
Charlie Health is one of the fastest-growing startups in the healthcare industry, working tirelessly to connect people everywhere to life-saving mental health and substance use treatment.
As a SUD Referral Relations Specialist, you will join a founding go-to-market team responsible for scaling Charlie Health's Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program nationally. SUD represents our next major growth vertical, and this team is charged with building the playbook. Where our Outreach team builds the relationships that point people toward care, you will make sure they get there.
Connecting someone with a substance use concern to treatment takes more than a warm handoff. Clients often come to us in crisis, in unstable circumstances, and at the hardest possible moment to keep an appointment. You will own the daily work of making sure no one is lost in that gap, identifying clients whose care has stalled, reaching out directly to get them rescheduled, coordinating with our Admissions team, and keeping referral partners informed on every client they send us.
You will work shoulder to shoulder with our SUD-focused Outreach Team and Admissions team.
This role is best suited for someone who thrives in high-accountability environments and wants to help build something meaningful from the ground up. In your role, you'll have unparalleled responsibility while collaborating with sharp, spirited, and ambitious coworkers. You'll also receive competitive benefits, ensuring you have the resources to thrive both personally and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Own the client journey from first contact through the start of care, making sure no one falls out of the process along the way
- Serve as the connective tissue between referral partners, clients, and our Admissions team
- Keep referral partners closely informed on the people they entrust to us, building confidence in Charlie Health as a long-term care partner
- Partner with our Outreach team to keep every client moving toward treatment, and coach on pipeline strategy so their time stays focused in the field
- Identify barriers to care as they surface and escalate the patterns behind them
Requirements
- Experience in direct client-facing role (e.g. Admissions Team), particularly in the mental health field, preferred.
- Support pipeline management activities during key Central Time and West Coast time hours (11am to 7pm ET).
- Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency
- Familiarity with and willingness to use cloud-based communication software (Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Dropbox, Salesforce) in addition to EMR and survey software on a daily basis.

Charlie Health is pleased to offer comprehensive benefits to all full-time, exempt employees. Read more about our benefits here.
