Ab Initio Developer

Job Description

• Ab Initio Suite: Proficiency in Graphical Development Environment (GDE), Co-Operating System, EME, and PDL.
• Database & Scripting: Strong SQL skills, relational databases (Oracle), and Unix Shell Scripting.
• Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile practices and job schedulers like Control-M or Autosys.

Work closely with Solution Architect, Data Modeler, Business Analysts to understand business requirements, providing expert knowledge and solutions on Data Warehousing, ensuring delivery of business needs in a timely cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Provides/reviews detailed technical specifications and ETL documentations required in each phase of the SDLC, and complies with internal standards and guidelines.
• Provides reviews of deliverables and identifies gaps/areas for improvement.
• Ensure the product team adheres to high quality enterprise standards with respect to built-in security, coding standards and patterns.
• Provides end-users support including business queries and requests.
• Create, execute, and document unit test plans for ETL and data integration processes and programs.
• Identify opportunities to optimize the ETL environment, quality and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Analyze & translate functional specifications & change requests into technical specifications.
• Examine existing code and recommend patches, design overhauls or fixes for broken code.
• Work on cross-functional features that span across multiple features and multiple teams, and define the scope of work for other teams wherever applicable.
• Lead and nurture a team in performing their tasks more effectively and efficiently.
• Participate in all aspects of solution delivery life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, production deployment, and support.
