Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement UI components using React, building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
• Build and maintain backend API endpoints in the pod's core language,.NET or Python depending on the service.
• Craft client code that is not just efficient but also performant, testable, scalable, secure, and of the highest quality.
• Optimize components for performance across supported browsers, and troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure smooth user experiences.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests for the code you own.
• Provide accurate status tracking, reporting, and estimation using project methods and tools.
• Gather requirements, validate their understanding amongst the team, and create and maintain relevant documentation.
• Foster collaboration with fellow engineers, designers, and managers to comprehend user pain points and iterate on solutions that drive client success.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
• Take ownership of assigned work, from technical design through a successful release.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience as a full-stack or front-end-leaning engineer.
• Proficiency in React and its core principles, including component design, state management, and common workflows such as Redux or an equivalent.
• Hands-on backend API development in.NET or Python, including REST endpoint design and consumption.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of protocols like HTTP and serialization formats like JSON and XML.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of source control tools and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Beginner to intermediate level design proficiency following UML / C4 / ArchiMate.
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (inheritance, polymorphism, classes, instances, properties).
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Additional Experience Desired:

• TypeScript and modern front-end tooling.
• Experience rendering large or streaming datasets in the browser, including charting and tabular data at volume.
• Exposure to caching layers such as Redis, and to document or time-series databases.
• Containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and unit testing practice.
• Interest in data-heavy operational or monitoring products.
