Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Associate - QA Engineer with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in software testing to join our QA team. In this role, you will contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of web and mobile applications by actively participating in test planning, test case creation, test execution, and defect tracking.
You will work closely with developers, project teams, and senior QA engineers to understand requirements, identify potential risks, and validate application functionality across different scenarios. This role requires a strong testing mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to think beyond basic functional validation to identify edge cases and potential product issues.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience in manual testing, test documentation, defect reporting, and basic exposure to automation and modern QA tools, along with a proactive attitude toward learning and improving product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and understand BRD, SRS, user stories, and functional specifications to ensure clear understanding of system requirements before testing begins.
- Translate requirements into structured test scenarios and well-documented test cases to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing for web and mobile applications across different browsers, devices, and environments.
- Identify edge cases, alternate flows, and boundary conditions to validate system behavior beyond standard use cases.
- Log, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and severity classification using defect management tools.
- Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains stable during releases.
- Participate in release testing cycles and sprint-level validation to confirm feature readiness and product stability.
- Maintain test documentation, test execution reports, and QA artifacts to support traceability and quality tracking.
- Support the preparation of test summaries, testing progress updates, and QA reports during development and release cycles.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, project managers, and senior QA engineers to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and improve product quality.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
- Perform basic API validation and data verification where required to ensure correct system behavior at the integration level.
- Take ownership of assigned modules or features, ensuring testing completeness and readiness for release.
- Contribute to improving test coverage, testing approaches, and QA processes within the team.
- Assist in testing AI-powered or data-driven features by validating output accuracy, response consistency, and expected system behavior across varied inputs.
- Continuously learn and build exposure to automation fundamentals, structured testing techniques, and emerging QA tools including AI testing practices.
