Business Development Representative (BDR)

About 1Kosmos

1Kosmos is driving the future of identity security, empowering organizations to eliminate passwords and establish trust at every step of the identity lifecycle. As a vibrant team of innovators, we develop advanced authentication solutions trusted by some of the world's leading brands. Join us as we create a passwordless world and set new standards for digital identity assurance.

We're growing fast and scaling globally. That means we are building new functions, processes, and teams, and are now looking to add a Business Development Representative to our team.

What You'll Do

• Start conversations that create pipeline. Research target accounts, find the right people, and reach them through phone, email, LinkedIn, events, or whatever thoughtful approach gets the conversation started.
• Learn what makes an account worth pursuing. Dig into companies, people, and business challenges to understand where identity, security, authentication, or fraud may be creating real problems.
• Make your outreach worth reading. Personalize your approach around what's happening in the prospect's business rather than simply running a script or sending another generic sequence.
• Turn interest into qualified conversations. Ask good questions, listen for real business pain, and book meetings that have a reason to happen.
• Own your follow-through. Keep your activity, contacts, and next steps organized and accurately captured in our CRM.
• Work as a team. Partner closely with Account Executives on accounts and handoffs, and with Marketing on campaigns, messaging, events, and creative ways to break through.
• Represent 1Kosmos in the real world. Join us at industry events and conferences and help turn booth traffic into conversations and relationships.
• Help us write the playbook. We're building this function, and not everything has been figured out yet. Bring your ideas, tell us what's working, test new approaches, and help shape how we do Business Development at 1Kosmos.

What We Are Looking For

Required

• 2+ years of professional work experience, preferably in sales, business development, or another customer-facing role; career changers are welcome.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you're at ease starting conversations with people you've never met, including senior decision makers.
• Comfortable with rejection and hungry for feedback; you learn, adjust, and keep moving.
• A builder and student at heart; you're excited to help shape what we are creating and curious enough to keep asking why, how, and what if.
• Organized, disciplined, and self-motivated; you can manage your time, stay on top of the details, and keep yourself moving toward your goals.

Strong Plus

• Prior BDR/SDR experience, ideally in B2B SaaS
• Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Nooks, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo
• Interest in or exposure to cybersecurity, fraud, or identity and access management
• Bachelor's degree

Why You Should Be Excited About This Role

• You'll build expertise in one of the fastest-moving areas of cybersecurity. Identity is changing quickly as passwords disappear, fraud gets more sophisticated, and organizations figure out how to establish trust in a world of humans, machines, and AI agents.
• You'll get a front-row seat to enterprise sales. Follow opportunities from that first cold conversation through discovery, evaluation, and ultimately a closed deal, and learn what goes into winning enterprise business.
• You'll see how the pieces fit together. Work across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success and learn how a growing B2B company turns strategy into customers and revenue.
• You'll see (and we'll celebrate) your impact. Your work has a direct line to pipeline and revenue. When a conversation you started turns into a customer, you'll know you helped put it there.
• You'll get real coaching. We'll invest in helping you become a better prospector, communicator, and seller, building skills that can take you to an AE seat or wherever you want your career to go next.
• You'll help build this with us. You'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, experiment, and leave your fingerprints on how this team grows.
• You'll receive support and mentorship. Your success is our success.
